Now i plan to order uDriver V2,but i find there is a new version uDriver V3 in the link:
Does uDriver V3 both hardware and driver avaiable now?
Should i choose uDriver V2 or uDriver V3?

I second this question. and , Does uDriver V3 support Magnetic encoders?
thanks!
Hello,
The uDriver V3 is not production ready yet, I suggest continuing with the uDriver V2 for now.
I’ve pushed everything on GitHub, so it will be easier to track the evolution of the board. We are preparing a revision correcting some hardware design issue, switch to more available components, and rethinking the pinout for easier integration in solo.
The timeline for finishing rooting this board revision and having it assembled and tested is fixed to end of December.
After validation, I hope that more people can have this board fabricated. The sourcing of the TMS320F28388D is also difficult at the moment. But at least we have some stock at LAAS to test the design.
Sorry for the long silence, now every development on hardware and firmware for this board will be documented on the GitHub history.
About the support of magnetic encoder, yes, the new board as been tested with an external SPI absolute encoder (as5047u and works fine. It is however not easy to add a magnetic encoder to odri modules.
Best,
Thomas.
Hello!
I’m an engineer in Japan and I’m just starting to build SOLO12.
If I order now, Would it be possible for me to use uDriver v3? or should i choose v2?
I’ve seen that v3.1 has been released on GitHub.
Using a magnetic encoder sounds very promising!
thanks.
Hi,
I think that some hardware modifications on the robot need to be done before integrating uOmodri V3 on a solo. Indeed the stacking of the pcb is higher than previously (due to AMASS connectors + encoders connectors).

hi i see there have been some recent updates on the uOmodri v3 repo, is it considered mature now?
Hi,
uOmodri is well advance. On uOmodri v2 we noticed an issue of SPI communication at voltage over 40V (lost of packets due to electromagnetic noise).
CAN-FD is in progress but will not be compatible with the CAN available on uDriver.
Discussing with Thomas our wish is to propose uOmodri + master board running RS485 soon.
