Form cutter with AT3 tooth profile

Hey,
Thanks for all the info you are providing, I have two questions regarding the AT3 10 teeth pulley manufacturing :

  1. It was mention that you use

We use a 3mm shaft form cutter with 3 teeth at a helix angle of 20 degrees.

Would you be able to send a link maybe, I can not find it on internet and in mechanical shop I couldnt explain them.

  1. How form cutter is indended to be used (cutting by going along the side, or vertically)?
  2. Would you suggest some affordable companies which are able to produce and deliver form cutter within EU (Germany in particular)?

Best,

Hey Vasily,

you can use this drawing to request a quote from a tool manufacturing company.

We have ordered the custom form cutters from Fritz Hartmann GmbH in Germany.

Alternatively you can order the ODRI Encoder Kit from PWB - this includes all the machined parts.

This form cutter is used in the axial direction of the pulley as shown below.

Best. Felix
